Leptin hormone and weight loss
Theoretically, a high level of leptin should tell the brain that there is a significant amount of energy, thus improving long-term weight loss. Unfortunately, when fat reserves are high, the mechanism fails. The brain stops receiving the signal for this hormone and begins to mistakenly believe that additional calories are necessary for a person.
The result - the appearance of eating disorders. The feeling of hunger increases; the desire to eat everything in sight is part of the routine. The mechanism works like a vicious circle: the more fat the body accumulates, the leptin falls, the brain actively tries to search for food. The result is slow but steady progress towards weight gain.
