Vilitra 60 contains Vardenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. The primary mechanism of action involves inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, which breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the corpus cavernosum of the penis. Sexual stimulation leads to nitric oxide (NO) release, which increases cGMP levels, causing smooth muscle relaxation and vasodilation. This allows increased blood flow into the penile tissue, resulting in an erection. By blocking PDE5, Vilitra 60mg sustains higher levels of cGMP, thereby enhancing and prolonging the erection. It requires sexual arousal to be effective and does not cause an erection without stimulation.
