The most important interaction with sildenafil is nitrate medicines, such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide, which are used for some heart conditions. Combining sildenafil with nitrates can cause a potentially dangerous drop in blood pressure. Sildenafil should also not be combined with riociguat, a medicine used for certain forms of pulmonary hypertension.

Fluoxetine can interact with other medicines that affect serotonin. These include certain antidepressants, particularly MAO inhibitors, some other SSRIs or SNRIs, and medicines such as linezolid or methylene blue. Combining serotonergic medicines can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, a potentially serious condition.
