Zhewitra 20 mg tablets are not long-acting. They contain vardenafil, a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It belongs to the class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors, which help improve blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. Zhewitra 20 mg starts working relatively quickly, usually within 30 to 60 minutes after taking the tablet. Its effect reaches the highest level around 1 to 2 hours after consumption. However, the overall duration of action is short, typically lasting about 4 to 6 hours in most users. In some Zhewitra 20 mg , the effect may slightly extend up to around 7 hours, but it still does not qualify as a long-acting medication. Because of this limited time window, Zhewitra is considered a short-acting ED treatment, not a daily or long-duration option. It should be taken only when needed, usually before planned sexual activity, and not more than once in 24 hours. The medicine works only when there is sexual stimulation; it does not automatically cause an erection. Its main function is to support the natural erectile response by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. Common side effects may include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dizziness, and indigestion. These effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if someone experiences chest pain, severe dizziness, or an erection lasting more than 4 hours, medical help should be sought immediately.
