Builders risk insurance is a form of special property insurance which provides protection to buildings and structures under construction or renovation. It covers financial risk of losses like the damage to the structure, materials or equipment prior to the application of the traditional property policy. This is also referred to as the course of construction insurance which is specific to construction risk and is a must till the project becomes permanent with the permanent insurance subsuming it.
