Filitra is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and contains the active ingredient Vardenafil, which works by improving blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. While it is effective for many men, it may also cause certain complications, especially if misused or taken without proper medical supervision.
One of the most common issues is mild side effects such as headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dizziness, or indigestion. These usually occur due to blood vessel dilation and are often temporary. However, more serious complications can occur in some cases.
A major risk is low blood pressure (hypotension), especially when Filitra is taken with nitrate medications used for chest pain. This combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Men with heart disease, recent heart attack, or stroke history may also face increased cardiovascular risks.
Another rare but serious complication is priapism, a prolonged and painful erection lasting more than four hours, which requires immediate medical attention to prevent permanent damage.
Some users may also experience vision or hearing changes, including blurred vision or sudden hearing loss, though these are uncommon.
Filitra may interact with other medications and health conditions, so proper medical evaluation is essential before use.
